I still really haven't picked up the habit of posting on social media yet. But this was way back before 2019, I did my first ever solo travel (except city-only solo trips). With just my backpack, camera, and I, spontaneously got a ticket to Cebu. Went on a 4 hour bus ride, plus another 45 minutes on a random guy's motorcycle, and also, a freakin' landslide happened, which got me stuck on the road for a while. All of that just to do my first ever climb, Kandungaw peak of Dalaguete, Cebu.
There, I made friends with all the locals, the elderly and kids, and they all told me I was a bit crazy going out here alone without my mother even knowing😂. I asked for a guide and I met the coolest 53 y.o guy, who basically had more endurance than me in climbing that mountain hahahaha. It's crazy to think that there was only me and this guy I literally just met, in that entire mountain.
When I finally reached the peak, I was amazed of how beautiful the view was. The guide then asked me to sit on the edge of the peak with my feet dangling down, I haven't been scared like that since courage the cowardly dog days when I was a kid hahahahaha.
But it made me realize, you can only truly appreciate the beauty of the world and its wonders, only, when you go outside your comfort zone. And I did. There are so many things you can learn out there that you cannot learn at school.
So that's why everytime anyone me asks for advice on how to enjoy life, I just say: "Go outside your comfort zone. Seek Discomfort." I suggest you all the same.
