The hardest thing about long distance relationship is the break up. dealing with someone's absense who wasn't there in the first place. how do you do that?
In normal relationships, you pack your bags and find a new home. you stop meeting mutual friends and avoid the places they visit. out of sight, out of mind. but what to do if love was in heart
what to do if love existed through songs and movies, memes and postcards, pixels and letters? how do you run away from all that? how do you run away from yourself? because in long distance relationships, you fall in love more with yourself than the person on the other side of screen. you fall in love with the person they see through video calls and want to kiss from miles away
the worst part is that nothing really has changed. you start your day in the same way and still return to the same empty home. your friends don't know and still ask about him. but there isn't 53 voice messages and 20 heart emojis waiting for you. there isn't someone telling you that they think about you the whole time. and there isn't the wait. or the stupidity of meeting and departing, over and over again. you don't hate airports that much. but everything else, is still the same.
how do you move on from something so abstract? how do you tell your heart that it's all different now when it isn't? that's why in long distance relationships, it's never really over. because you know it'll never be over.
